While most airlines offer first class seating to those willing to pay for it, Air France is giving fliers the chance to upgrade their seats by playing a game on their mobile devices.
To coincide with the reveal of its new business class cabins, Air France gave fliers a chance to experience the upgrade for themselves. Rather than having consumers pay for the upgrade, the brand created a mobile challenge that awards winners with their own business cabin experience. Fliers can participate to win while waiting at their gates, a time when consumers are most likely already engaged with their devices. Fliers get real-time score updates and rankings throughout the game, eliminating players until only a handful of competitors are left. At the end of the challenge, the lucky winners are not only rewarded with an upgrade to business class, but an enjoyable, memorable way to pass time while waiting for flights.
