To make social distancing a little more bearable, Chipotle is hosting virtual hangouts on the video conferencing platform Zoom.
The fast-casual Mexican restaurant is announcing these “Chipotle Together” sessions and providing the links to join on its Twitter page. Each session has a special celebrity guest, and up to 3,000 fans are allowed to join in. The first one was hosted on Monday, March 16th by Colton Underwood, who was “The Bachelor” on the reality TV show’s 23rd season. During these virtual lunchtime hangouts, the celebrity guest will chat with fans and share a Chipotle-inspired presentation.
Through this campaign, Chipotle is encouraging people to stay home to prevent the spread of COVID-19 while approaching the situation in a more positive and lighthearted way. At a time when morale is low, the brand is meeting younger consumers where they already are and helping them make the most out of the situation.
