In their summer campaign, Macy’s is helping customers find and purchase the perfect outfits for specific locations using Pinterest Pincodes.
Macy’s has placed pop-up stations at popular summer destinations across the country, such as Central Park, The Brooklyn Heights Promenade and the Santa Monica Pier, where customers can use their phone to scan Pinterest Pincodes. Each one triggers a Pinterest board with styles curated specifically for that location. The boards also include links to shoppable pages that allow customers to immediately purchase their favorite looks. In addition, the brand is highlighting summer moments through short stories on Facebook and Instagram and creating a YouTube series that shares fashion tips and tutorials.
As social commerce and apps such as LikeItToKnowIt are becoming more popular, Macy’s found a unique way to play into the trend through this experiential campaign. By providing fashion inspiration and an easy check-out process, the brand is increasing convenience and creating a more seamless shopping experience for customers.
