At a game in November, the Minnesota Wild became the first professional sports team to incorporate Snapchat Spectacles – video-recording glasses that wirelessly transmit up to ten seconds of video to a user’s Snapchat account – into the fan experience.
The NHL team utilized this new wearable technology to broadcast pregame warmups, locker room rituals, gameplay and other live behind-the-scenes action.
While almost every professional sports league has embraced Snapchat in their marketing efforts, the Minnesota Wild have taken the platform one step further, employing this cutting edge, yet simple, technology to give users a new first-person fan experience.
