If you’re a fan of the hit HBO series Game of Thrones, you’ve definitely imagined what it would be like to sit on the iron throne and rule the seven kingdoms.
New Yorkers had the opportunity to feel like the ruler of Westeros in a recent campaign with Uber. To help promote the series and HBO’s newest streaming service HBO Now, riders were able to request replica iron throne cars to take them to their destination. Trucks with clear glass windows showcased the replica thrones and temporary kings or queens. Additionally, social media was used to promote the event with #RideOfThrones. Uber has done several unique promotional tie ins previously, such as delivering ice cream last summer. However, partnering with a hit series and an iconic image that riders can actually sit on makes this one truly remarkable.
