Samsung has partnered with Autism Speaks to develop an app that helps children and families affected by autism.
Samsung launched the “Look at Me Project,” donating 200 Galaxy tablets to autistic children in an effort to connect affected families with one another. It all began in Seoul where Samsung, inspired by autistic children, began working with Universities to create an app to help the them develop their communication skills. Now an app in Canada as well, the FREE Look At Me App hopes to help autistic children become more comfortable in various social situations as they grow up. It is designed to keep children concentrated and motivated by playing short games teaching them to look at faces, read facial expressions and understand emotions. It also relays feedback back to parents and caregivers on children’s daily progress. Programs like this are always inspiring – a major brand humbly putting forth an effort to improve quality of life for children and families.
