Target is experimenting with a new e-commerce site called “Target Awesome Shop” that provides consumers with a variety of products based on Pinterest recommendations. Each day, an assortment of products are featured on the site based entirely on data from Pinterest. While this site is new for the brand, it is no surprise Target is utilizing Pinterest in this way. They use the photo-sharing social site regularly by updating 45 boards with a variety themes ranging from seasonal products, to tips, to “How To’s.” By creating this new innovative site, Target reveals their new strides to meet consumers needs, while also aiming to boost online sales. And, it shows the value they place in how their consumers use and interact with their Pinterest account. The company says they will consider data from other social network sites in the future.
