This football season, 19 fans of 19 NFL teams can purchase bags featuring their team logos that are injected with a “little bit of luck”.
Tostitos’ TV spot features different team traditions with favorite NFL stars, including Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco, and Houston Texans defensive end Jadeveon Clowney.
The campaign will also feature exclusive content for fans on Snapchat. Each limited-edition bag provides a Snap code where users can scan in order to unlock more content about their team’s rituals. Additionally, fans can show their own game day traditions using hashtag #LuckyBags for a chance to be featured on Tostitos’ Twitter, Instagram or Facebook channels.
Superstitions and gameday traditions are embedded in the football culture, but whether Tostitos can create a new one is yet to be determined. Even if fans don’t “rub the bag for good luck”, the personalized and exclusive Snapchat content takes the campaign to a new level. Offering behind-the-scene footage of favorite team players and their unique rituals is incentive enough to buy the bag.
