TripLingo, a cutting-edge mobile app helps travelers stay safe, productive and savvy during international trips with a suite of tools. Designed to help navigate all things foreign with ease, the app taps into both language and culture, offering travelers a sparknote version of everything they will need to know when they arrive to their destination. Where TripLingo differs from the standard guidebook is it’s ability to offer a real-time translator (just speak into your phone and the app will speak back OR to whomever you’re trying to communicate with). Another fancy feature is TripLingo’s Slangslider, allowing users to choose how formal or informal they would like their responses to be as well as select the speed at which the mobile translator speaks.
TripLingo also works with leading travel brands to provide customers with a unique and useful tool for international travel. The app allows for co-branding, which let’s the sponsoring travel brand stay top of mind. Celebrity Cruises partnered with the app to enhance the linguistic capabilities of guests by adding cruise specific phrases to the mix. It will be interesting to see what other brands, outside of the travel/transportation industry, leverage travelers abroad (i.e. local restaurants recommending a favorite traditional dish).
