Lingerie leader Victoria’s Secret is taking its catalog to the next level. Digitally enabled catalogs allow consumers to download the Victoria’s Secret app and use it to shop their ads in real time through scannable products and short consumer quizzes.
Consumers can use their smartphone cameras through the app to scan product images causing pink plus signs to appear. Users can then click the plus sign to shop for the product directly, providing additional images and information. The app also features “The Fit Quiz” which asks consumers a number of questions to generate a result and then gives their “perfect fit” bra size along with a link to shop their line. These features show an effective way to appeal to their target consumer by providing more interactive avenues to experience the product in new ways other than physically standing in the store or flipping through a print catalog.
