The World Wildlife Fund is utilizing one of the hottest twitter trends to tweet for a reason: emojis.
After looking through the existing emojis on smartphones, the WWF realized that 17 animals on the keyboard are currently on the endangered species list. They then launched a campaign using #EndangeredEmoji to draw awareness and funding to help in their efforts. This campaign, along with other emoji-driven concepts, makes it easy for consumers to participate and interact (as well as donate in this case). In addition, a relevant event can make a campaign even more effective.
